Stephen A. Leong
Year of Call:  1993
Practice Areas: Personal Injury Claims, Commercial/Civil Litigation

Mr. Leong joined KSW in February, 2002. He has practiced almost exclusively in the area of personal injury litigation since being called to the Bar in 1993. As such, he brings a unique perspective to the investigation, assessment and defence of ICBC claims. Mr. Leong has acquired extensive experience in defending claims involving post traumatic stress disorder, spinal cord injuries, mild traumatic brain injury, family compensation claims, complex Worksafe BC claims and low velocity impact actions. He currently devotes his practice almost exclusively to defence of ICBC claims. Mr. Leong has extensive trial experience, both before Judges and juries, as well as Rule 18A and Rule 66 hearings. Mr. Leong takes particular pride in two victories obtained in 2004 and 2005 respectively. In an LVI matter the jury dismissed the Plaintiff’s claim in its entirety, with costs to the Defendant. He also obtained full dismissal of a Plaintiff’s claim which proceeded to trial on liability only before Judge alone in 2005.

Mr. Leong has also attended numerous mediations and informal settlement negotiations, the vast majority of which have resulted in successful resolution of claims.
