Kane, Shannon and Weiler has a long successful history of assisting clients with the purchase and development of commercial and residential real estate. We draft contracts of purchase and sale, prepare conveyance documents as well as subdivision documents such as easements, rights of way and restrictive covenants, land exchange documents and joint venture agreements for clients who have land or are acquiring land which they wish to develop, lease and/or sell.

We have extensive experience in liaising with municipalities, engineers, planners and surveyors to enable our clients to successfully subdivide or stratify their properties or consider other development structures such as leases, co-operatives, etc. Our firm prepares disclosure statements for various development offerings.

We can also assist with the organization of the structure to acquire and develop the land, whether it be a company, a partnership or a joint venture, review of loan agreements, draft trust documents if an entity is holding the development in trust for other companies, and review or prepare contracts for management and construction services.
