Heather Blatchford was born in Belleville, Ontario. She graduated from the University of Waterloo with a Bachelor of Arts Degree in 1975, from Western Washington University with a Master Of Arts Degree in 1981, and from the University of British Columbia with a Bachelor of Law Degree in 1990. She articled with McCarthy Tetrault in Vancouver, BC and was called to the BC Bar in 1991. Shortly after being called to the Bar, Ms. Blatchford joined Kaminsky & Company in North Delta and later moved to Manthorpe Law Offices in Surrey. In September, 1999, Ms. Blatchford joined Kane, Shannon & Weiler in the White Rock office.

Ms. Blatchford is a member of the Law Society of British Columbia and the Canadian Franchise Association. As well, she was a guest instructor for several Professional Legal Training Courses for the Law Society of British Columbia. She lectured for White Rock and Cloverdale Continuing Education and also for the People's Law School. She was also a guest instructor for the Vancouver Self-Employment Program an the Surrey Self-Employment and Entrepreneurial Society ( SEEDS ) as well a participant on the Business Review Panel at SEEDS.

Ms. Blatchford’s primary areas of practice are real estate, business, franchises and wills and estates, and corporate law. She is married and lives in South Surrey with her husband and two daughters. Her leisure time pursuits include golf, swimming and sports activities with her family.
